Calling all creatives who want to send and receive happy mail!
I developed "Happy Mail Monday" in 2020 while looking for opportunities to share a little happiness and connect with people far and wide. Every Monday I would send happy mail to random folks who commented on a Salted Pink Studio Facebook post. Everything from Zentangle tiles to elaborately decorated envelopes, tiles to finish, larger pieces for framing, my original cards, a simple note of thanks, and more were shared by post. So many people have commented that it inspired them to send happy mail as well.
Now I'm bringing it back with a twist: YOU CAN PARTICIPATE, TOO!
That's right: YOU are now able to send and receive happy mail!
If you agree to share some positivity and kindness through the postal service by sending one, two or three pieces of happy mail, simply fill outTHIS FORM before June 5 to be randomly assigned a recipient.
Who can participate?
Anyone who wants to share creative content!
Cost?
FREE! You just pay postage for the pieces you send.
What do I send?
Simply a note coupled with a piece of original art. That's it. You can certainly add more to the envelope if you choose, or even decorate the envelope itself, but the core of this Happy Mail Exchange is the note and a piece of art giving your mailbox and YOU a bit of happiness upon receipt.
Who receives this happy mail?
Everyone who signs up! Send one, receive one. Send two, receive two. Send three, receive three. You get the idea! Your recipient(s) will be randomly selected from the participant list and their names and addresses emailed to you a few days after registration closes. You will then have about 2 weeks to create your Happy Mail and drop it in the post before the specified Monday deadline.
Remember, each piece of mail MUST CONTAIN the following 2 items at minimum:
1. A note for the recipient.
2. A piece of your art -- a tangled tile, a collage, a watercolor, anything YOU created that will fit in the envelope.
You can add more to the envelope if you choose but those are the two REQUIRED pieces.
General guidelines:
* Happy mail is free, but remember that you will spend money on postage and whatever art supplies you require.
* Your assigned recipient(s) and any additional instructions will be emailed to you before June 12. You will then have 2 weeks to complete your happy mail.
* Happy mail should be postmarked on or before Monday, June 26, 2023.
* When you receive your mail, please share picture in the Happy Mail Exchange Facebook group. (A link to the group will be provided after you register.)
* Salted Pink Studio will host a Happy Mail Exchange every other month. Registrations will not carry over so you will need to register each time you wish to participate.
